Advantages Of Using Fertilizer And Lime Spreader

By Kathleen Cox

Due to an evolution of technology, a lot of the manual labour seems to be disappearing thus introduction of new methods. The agricultural front has gone from people tilling the land, to have ox-drawn ploughs to having machinery such as tractors. Apart from land tilling, planting and distribution of manure can be done using a fertilizer and lime spreader.

We all want our lawns or farms to look uniform. This can be achieved by ensuring the sprinklers give an equal amount of water to every part and by using fertilizer spreader. Machines, unlike human beings, can be programmed into delivering the same amount over and over. This goes a long way in avoiding bare patches in the ground or burned out roots and clumps.

There is the option of choosing the model you want. You get to choose according to how much use you plan to get out of it, the cost and the size of land. Luckily there is one for every size of land. For a small lawn, it would be advisable to go for a hand-held propagator, for a medium piece of land, drop spreaders are best while for larger pieces of land a broadcast spreader is best.

The last thing you want is to have a bio-hazardous situation on your hands. This may come about when you are not well geared up while distributing the fertilizer. Often are times when most people will choose to improvise a propagator of their own. If the manure happens to come into contact with the skin of the person, it may lead to a few health complications.

Among the best benefits is time-saving. We always have other things we want to accomplish in a day. Applying the manure manually will need you to take time and calculate the rates at which the fertilizer will be most accurately spread. With the spreader, however, you only need to set the specifications and forget about it.

When we buy items, we feel more content if we can use them for different purposes. For example, when you buy a spoon, you can use it to eat soup and to eat porridge. The same way, the propagator can be used to not only fertilize the seeds but to plant them too. It also comes into use during the winter in spreading salt all-over the areas where the snow is unwanted.

As time passes, the cost of manure goes up too. You do not want to find yourself buying it only to waste it. The machine spreads out the manure evenly and to your specifications. This means that you are in charge of whether it is over or under done. The lawn or crops also have higher chances of turning out great.

These spreaders are also used by crop growers. They increase the chances of the yield improving as the manure was spread equally. This covers the vastly growing population and the drastic changes in the climate.
